The Australasian TETRA + Critical Communications Forum, formerly the Australasian TETRA Forum, is a chapter of the international TETRA and Critical Communications Association (TCCA) and part of more than 160 organisations from all continents of the world bringing together all those with an interest in the provision and  development of non-proprietary digital wireless communications in mission- or business-critical environments.

The TCCA also works closely with those that are responsible for the development of standards relating to critical mobile communications. These include ETSI, the European Standards Development Organisation, and 3GPP which develops and maintains standards for public mobile networks.

The Australasian TETRA Forum, now the Australasian TETRA + Critical Communications Forum, was founded in Australia in 2001 and has been successful in the promotion of the non-proprietary mission-critical digital TETRA radiocommunications technology in Australasia supported by its membership of vendors and mobile radio distributors, integrators and user organisations.

The dPMR Association was founded in 2007 and has grown steadily ever since. It comprises manufacturers of radios, chip-sets, infrastructure, protocol stack software, test equipment etc. They all support the two ETSI dPMR standards and wish to promote the latest narrowband 6.25 kHz digital technology.

The Association has the fundamental aim of ensuring interoperability between different vendors using the ETSI interoperability standards. It is also developing updates to the ETSI standards to accommodate new applications and functionality to ensure that dPMR retains its cutting edge compared to other digital technologies.
