The typical WISP’s business is born out of a desire to fix local connectivity issues for their neighbours or customers. For many that quickly equals growth as word of mouth spreads and more locals want to be connected. Scale this over time and add other telco services, VoIP, wholesale fibre, DSL and even 4G/5G and todays WISP or regional internet providers businesses are very much regional Telcos. Where have WISPS come from and where are they going in 2022 and beyond.
