We are reminded, all too often, of the impacts of poor cybersecurity practice.  News articles on targeted and non-targeted attacks impacting people and organisations in NZ and around the world are far too common.  NZ industrial organisations are no different and have the potential to be low-hanging fruit for global threats in this connected world.

Peter and the ECL Cyber team work to improve cybersecurity for NZ industrial organisations, working with clients and partners to ensure safe and reliable operations.  Peter will talk about the unique approach his team uses to secure industrial environments based on ECL’s decades of experience as a control systems service provider.

Leaving enterprise security to the IT security companies, the award-winning ECL Cyber team focus solely on OT (operational technology) security.  In this talk, Peter will talk about best-practice OT security with real-world examples of the good, the bad and the ugly.  Peter will also talk about the NZ industrial cyber community being built around the NZ ICS Cyber Technical Network with some updates on where we’ve come from, where we are today and the future of industrial cybersecurity in NZ.
