Our Shape Technology CTO, Dr Steven Dirven will take the audience through how the technology works, its advantages and its limitations.  We will talk about how we came to use this technology as well as terrestrial IoT network technologies to help the Department of Conservation to remotely monitor their network of radio repeater sites.  We will briefly cover the recent announcement made by our partners at OneNZ on the new generation of satellites which will bring Direct to Cell services starting in 2024.  Collin Hopkinson, Senior Radio Team Lead from the Department of Conservation will talk about their radio network, its importance to the safety of their workers and the challenges they face in ensuring it remains operational.  He will share about our partnership in designing hardware using IoT radio networks to monitor the VHF radio network equipment and the benefits that has brought to the Department in terms of increased uptime, safety, lower costs and lowering their carbon footprint.
